It was love at first bite!
Dr. John and Dr. Carla Ludwig celebrate their 43th wedding anniversary this May 1, 2024. They traveled to New Orleans to celebrate, where they spent their honeymoon. Dr. John and Dr. Carla met at the University of Michigan Dental School their freshman year.
They got married after the completion of their junior year of dental school and before their senior summer. Yes, they had one week off and took full advantage. After graduating from dental school, they moved to Grand Rapids and joined Dr. Robert Ludwig right here at Life-Centered Dentistry. It was called Ludwig Family Dentistry at that time.

MEET DR. CARLA LUDWIG
Non-Profit Leader | Speaker | Author
Dr. Carla Ludwig is a committed non-profit executive, author, and speaker with a heart for empowering single mothers and their families. As the founding director of Hope for Single Moms, a faith-based organization, she empowers single moms to achieve economic independence, helps their children reach their full potential, and builds stronger, more stable families.
Most recently, Dr. Ludwig was honored with one of the 2024 16 Over 60 Awards in recognition of her impactful work with Hope for Single Moms. With over three decades of experience in non-profit leadership, she has dedicated her career after dentistry to creating opportunities for others to thrive and make a positive difference.
Dr. Ludwig is also the author of several resources aimed at fostering growth and resilience, including

Michael and Christina with Ashley, 12, and Isla, 2 weeks.
Michael is a Business Intelligence Developer IV with Valley Wise Health. Christina is the director of the American Immersion Theater-Tulsa. Ashley is entering 8th grade at Owasso Public Schools.
The Perriers
Dax and Jessy with Channing, 9, Ledger, 6, and Kove, 2.
Dax is a territory sales director for Ten Healthcare. Jessy is an area sales manager with Glo2facial. Channing and Ledger go to Rejoice Christian School. Kove attends Happy Hands.
The Farrells
Trevor and Andrea Farrell with Ezra, 8, Farley, 6, Tucker, 3, and Boaz, 1.
Trevor and Andrea Farrell live in Winchester, KY just outside Lexington. Ezra is 7, Farley 5, Tucker 3-1/2 and Boaz 13 months. Trevor is an electrical contractor with Les’ Electric. Andrea is a ballet instructor. She also homeschools the boys.
The Kunkles
Nathanial and Melissa Kunkle with Thane, 2.
They live in the south Houston area near NASA. Nathanial is a private pilot. Melissa is a ballet instructor at Houston Ballet Academy. (New photo coming)
Greg Ludwig
Greg, in Louisville, KY continues to work as a financial advisor with Capital Guidance. Greg shot his first deer with a muzzleloader, a monster 8 point in KY. He still plays hockey and golf. Andrea and her crew came for Thanksgiving dinner.
David Ludwig
David is out in LA working as a design engineer for “Call of Duty” with Infinity Ward. He plays hockey and soccer. In the past two years, he’s traveled to Japan, Mexico and Florida.
Hobbies

Dr. John Ludwig enjoys hunting and began hunting with his dad, Dr. Bob Ludwig. He and his son, Greg, hunt together.
He and his brother own land up north near Ferris State University. He prefers bow hunting over rifle and is pictured on the left with his 2017 6-point deer during archery season. On the right is the turkey is got in May, 2023.
The father-son hunt traditions continues on. Dr. Ludwig takes time off in the fall to hunt with his son, Greg.
Dr. John Ludwig has been the dentist for the Grand Rapids Griffins since they started in 1996, but did you know that he played hockey, too?
Dr. Ludwig started playing hockey after her sons, Greg and David did. Or perhaps it is more accurate to say he started coaching them, which led to his playing career. Some of the most fun he had is when both boys played with him on Sunday nights when they both lived in Grand Rapids. While he has now retired as a player and coach, he still enjoys watching the game.
He is also the team dentist for the GR Gold and Rise teams.
